Every parent wonders just how much to ?push? their beliefs, values and agendas onto their child. If you know my philosophy at all, my answer to these kinds of musings always veers toward the ?less is more? category.
Why? Because it is my strong sense that children need to fall into their own ideations and visions for themselves. Rather than blindly follow our ways of being, they need to discover their own. This is far more authentic and sustainable.
The line between raising our children and pushing them is often a fine one. No one does it perfectly. The intention is never perfection. It?s only and always?aspiration. We can only aspire toward consciousness. We can never perfect it.
